Tollerton is situated 5 miles south of Nottingham. This web site has been put together by the Tollerton Village History Group who are a small group of enthusiastic local residents keen to preserve our village’s history and heritage. This is not a historical society as some villages have created but a working group whose purpose is to:

  • gather information, memories, stories and photographic material relating to Tollerton from a wide range of sources;
  • generate and maintain local interest in Tollerton’s history and heriatge;
  • archive the information and materials gathered for future reference;
  • share our found information and insights in a variety of accessible forms with the residents of Tollerton.

A book of the modern history entitle “Tollerton: A Village History” was published in May 2015 and refreshes and continues Sidney Potter’s history of Tollerton of 1929. Our hope is to let the web site carry on the mantle and record personal histories and other stories that we weren’t able to fit in the book, letting the site grow as history unfolds.
