The following brief item about the church was published in the ‘Local Interest’ column of the Nottingham Evening Post on 27 October, 1906.
“One of the most interesting churches in Nottinghamshire is undoubtedly that of St Peter, Tollerton, which in almost every respect retains its fascinating old-world appearance.
Yet in one matter this little church is more in touch with modern methods than most of the churches in the archdeaconry, for it is beautifully lighted by electricity, although candles are still placed in position as in other days. The electric current is obtained not from Nottingham, but from Tollerton Hall.”
