Tollerton 21.11.2019
Two photos of Melton Road, near Edwalton taken in 1999. These photos took me back to the ‘good old days’ when travelling to and from Tollerton on this stretch of the Melton Road. Wheatcroft roundabout was not a scary place to negotiate, there were no multitudes of confusing traffic lights and no houses. It was all so rural and delightful, particularly in Spring when there were daffodils en masse and the windswept cherry trees, when in bloom, were a beautiful sight in pink and if that isn’t enough we have to add Wheatcroft roses in the field before the roundabout.
When I looked at these old photos I thought that they surely deserve a place on the History website of Tollerton.
