It’s amazing what we find when we have time on our hands and that’s one thing a lot of people, have found they have had with the Covid 19 pandemic – Time.
Time to spring clean the house, time to organise the attic… and this is where David and Cheryl Broughton have found this little gem.
David’s mother was Alice Mary Sweet. Her parents – Charles and Emma Sweet both worked for the Burnsides, Charles as the coachman and Emma as a housemaid.
Mrs Burnside gave this set to her godchild when she was born in 1910. David believes that the writing on the note was by Charles to remember who gave them the present. They are silver plated and in a lovely presentation box.
